Album Review: Jason Crabb – Love Is Stronger

Jason Crabb

Jason Crabb

Jason Crabb – Love Is Stronger
Producer: Jay DeMarcus, Wayne Haun & Ed Cash
Label: Spring Hill Music/Gaither Music Group
Website: http://www.jasoncrabb.com
Jason Crabb has pretty much become a household
name in gospel music. His distinct vocals are
powerful, anointed and energetic. Jason won the
hearts of fans everywhere as a kid singing lead and
playing guitar with his family, The Crabb Family.
After a successful carrer as a family, they retired and
Jason began a solo career in 2007. Jason has many
awards and accolades to his credit. One of his biggest
is Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year
awarded to him by the Gospel Music Association
Dove Awards last year.
Jason’s latest project, “Love is Stronger” is sure to be
a favorite among fans for a long time. Packed full of
powerful songs the project has a strong theme
throughout it: Love. Jason’s vocals are powerful and
spot on throughout this entire project.
It’s hard to just pick a few highlights but some
moments that truly stood out would be “That’s What
the Blood is For.” If this doesn’t become a new
signature song and a favorite in concert for Jason, I’d
be shocked. The song is powerful and Jason’s delivery
is heartfelt and flawless.
“Love Wins” is a duet featuring worship leader and
artist Kari Jobe. Jason and Kari’s voices blend
beautifully and this cut is truly magical.
“There’s Not A Crown Without A Cross” is another
great performance. Many will remember this from
back in the 1990’s when Michael English cut this and
then later The Martins. Bob Farrell and Geron Davis
penned this great song. Jason has Joyce Martin
Sanders and Michael English join him on this song,
and the three make a great trio on this arrangement.
“Let Mercy Hold You” is another great cut that, while
a different sound vocally for Jason is beautifully done.
The albums title cut, “Love is Stronger” has a
beautiful melody and is a song of hope reminding us
that life is tough but love is stronger!
The project closes with the beautiful, simple,
“Satisfied.” Jason shines on this, and it’s a change
from the big ballad sound we all love him for. But, it’s
a great way to close this powerful project.
There is honestly not a weak song on this project. It
has great songs, and Jason is at his best. It is a must
have for fans of Jason or fans of Christian Music.
Jason Crabb is an anointed man and musician and
truly God is using him in mighty ways.

Artist Interview: Rance Allen Group Talks Music Business and Amazing Grace

The Rance Allen Group are in the midst of
celebrating their 40th year of being in the gospel
music industry. With a new CD/DVD project,
“Amazing Grace”, the fellas of the Rance Allen
Group, take us on a musical journey with a behind
the scenes look at their lives and highlights from their
music career. Hit songs, major crossover appeal and
hearts after God, IChooseGospel.com had an
opportunity to get to know The Rance Allen Group a
little better. Get into the interview below and pick up
“Amazing Grace” available now in stores everywhere.
ICG: Having been in the business for over 4
decades…How has the music industry
changed in your opinion? RAG: “It’s now the
digital age it’s easier to get material recorded, but
that doesn’t translate it into your material getting
accepted.”
ICG: I know many artists would say that you
and your music have influenced them to be
the artists they are now but…Who are The
Rance Allen Group’s musical influences? RAG:
“James Cleveland, Mighty Clouds of Joy, Volinaires,
and Motown”
ICG: We’ve seen groups come and go in the
music industry…What do you attribute The
Rance Allen Group’s success and ability to
stay together for so long to?
RAG: “The fact that we are blood brothers and it has
to work for everybody or it doesn’t work for anybody,
because that’s what usually splits the groups. We all
have the same goals for the group and those are to
spread God’ gospel thru song and bring souls to
Christ.”
ICG: In your own words, What does the
“Amazing Grace” project mean to you?
RAG: “It’s God’s grace that we are still here after 4
decades of singing. Amazing Grace also has to do
with all of us knowing that God’s grace, in other
words, is actually His unmerited favor. God has been
just that good to us, and when we look and see all of
the things He’s done for us and the places he’s
allowed us to go and the people he’s allowed us to
meet all we can say is God is truly amazing!”
ICG: Looking back over your career and the
many experiences you’ve encountered…What
is your favorite memory/experience to date?
RAG: “When invited to sing on the Wattstax show
that was held in the Los Angeles Coliseum. the first
big show Isaac Hayes asked the group to open for him
and the induction into the International Gospel
Music Hall of Fame.”
ICG: With all that you guys have experienced
in your career…What advice would you give
to an up-and-coming group/duo?
RAG: “Sing because you love to sing. If you do that
you will not be disappointed wherever it takes you.
Because if you are singing for the fame and fortune it
will trip you up somewhere along the line.”
ICG: What was the creative process like for
creating “Amazing Grace”?
RAG: “We had to work together and then also had to
work separately to complete the CD. Anytime any of
us came to the studio, together or separately, God
would always bless us to be creative and do music
that was simply amazing.”
ICG: Throughout the history of your career,
What has been the biggest lesson learned?
RAG: “Isaiah 40:31. We have learned that “…they
that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…
they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk
and not faint.” The music careers are like life, it’s a
journey and you need to stop and smell the roses
along the way. There’s been a lot of interesting things
happening along the way, and you can miss the way
you need to go.

Official: Mali Music Joins RCA Records

News of this has been floating around for quite some
time; however today has finally seen it confirmed that
Mali Music has indeed signed with RCA Records.
The “I Hate You” singer’s last album, “The Second
Coming” was released independently back in ’09.
And now that the rising icon has teamed up with a
heavyweight like RCA Records i’m sure he’ll be able to
easily continue his foray into the mainstream. Keep
in mind he’s the only inspirational/gospel act on the
roster- he’s joined the likes of Brandy, Kelly
Clarkson, Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson,
Justin Timberlake and the list goes on.
Details below…
Today saw the newly-restructured Sony Music label
boldly showcase Mali as a flagship act.
